Gemma is a shark scientist, with an MRes in Marine Sciences at the University of Portsmouth. Her passion has always been elasmobranch conservation and protecting local species that are often overlooked but most at risk. Gemma specialises in social science, recreational fisheries and tourism management. Alongside her work with MARECO, Gemma works as a Consultant Researcher in inter-governmental shark tourism management. Since re-locating to the Isle of Man, you will find Gemma at the beach or exploring Manx waters.

Gemma is keen to help engage new audiences and highlight the importance of conserving local marine megafauna.
